We believe in a world where people don't leave, even when they are gone.

Dad tells his stories in his own voice and says yes to what comes next. We're building toward the day you can still ask him anything, and hear his simulated voice answer.

Ask him out loud. Hear his simulated voice answer.

Our long-term goal is a true digital copy: his stories, the way he tells them, and his voice. You speak, and he answers in the first person, in his simulated voice, built from everything he chose to record.

His stories. His way of telling them. His voice.

AI · Dad's simulated voice

You ask, out loud: “When did you realize you loved her?”

Spoken reply: “Summer of '71, at the county fair. She beat me at ring toss three times, and I kept paying for one more round just to stand next to her.”

Real recording · Session 3, "Early years"

You ask, out loud: “Did you ever win at ring toss?”

Spoken reply: “On the last night, finally. A little stuffed bear. I gave it to her before I could lose my nerve, and she kept it on her dresser for fifty years.”

Real recording · Session 5, "Your mother"

It starts with Dad, while he's here.

Nothing happens without him. He decides, he records, and he chooses what comes next.

  1. He says yes

Dad consents for himself, to every step.

  2. He tells his stories

Guided questions, one evening at a time: the fair, the first job, the night you were born. He records his stories in his own voice.

  3. He allows what comes next

He agrees to what can be built from everything he recorded, and who can use it when he's gone.

Four steps to the destination.

We're building it one step at a time, and every step brings his voice a little closer.

  1. Phase 1 · Being built now

    Find his story.

You ask a question. Tellfeather finds the story he recorded, or the exact part of it, and plays it.

  2. Phase 2 · Planned

He answers, and shows you where.

Tellfeather answers in the first person, as Dad, then links the answer to the story he recorded. Press play to hear it.

  3. Phase 2.5 · Planned

Just talk. The source is there when you ask.

Tellfeather answers in the first person, as Dad, and the conversation flows. Want to know where he said it? Ask for the source.

  4. Phase 3 · Planned, later

You speak. He answers in his simulated voice.

Ask out loud, and he answers in the first person, in his simulated voice.

Ask the questions you'll wish you had.

  • How did you know Mom was the one?
  • What was your first car?
  • What scared you most the night I was born?
  • Where did you go the summer you were seventeen?
  • What did Grandpa teach you?
  • What song takes you right back?
  • What was the best day of your life?
  • What do you hope I remember?

He answers them once. You can ask them whenever you need him.

  • Dad decides, always
  • Dad records for himself, while he's here
  • Adults only
  • Dad decides who can listen
