Waitlist privacy policy

1. Who runs this waitlist

This waitlist is run by [FOUNDER LEGAL NAME], an individual, at [MAILING ADDRESS: street address | PO Box ####, City ST ZIP | street address PMB ####, City ST ZIP]. Tellfeather is the planned name of the product. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean [FOUNDER LEGAL NAME], and, after a transfer, the company described in section 5.

This policy covers only the Tellfeather waitlist page at [domain] and the emails we send to people on the waitlist. The product doesn't exist yet. It will have its own privacy policy before it collects anything.

2. Information we collect

We don't collect payment or card details. The only thing we ask about anyone else is the state where the person who'd record lives. Please don't send us other information about them.

3. How we use it

To check where the person who'd record lives: Tellfeather won't be offered in Illinois or Colorado at launch. We use the state (and, if you'd record yourself, your ZIP code) only for this check and to plan the launch. Your browser compares the ZIP code with the state. This page doesn't use your IP address to work out where you are, and it never asks for ID. If the person who'd record lives in Illinois or Colorado, we don't keep your sign-up. If you ask us to email you when Tellfeather is available there, we keep only your email address for that. We delete the state and ZIP with the rest of your waitlist entry.

We use your information only to run this waitlist, to email you about launch and pricing, and, if you ticked the box, to invite you to a research conversation. Your answer to the price question and your test group help us decide what to charge; we look at them only in summary across everyone on the list.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell or share your information, including for advertising. We disclose it only to:

• Service providers that handle it only on our behalf, to run this waitlist: [EMAIL PROVIDER: TBD] (sending waitlist emails) and [FORM / HOSTING PROVIDER: TBD] (hosting this page and storing sign-ups). None has been chosen yet; we'll name them here before the page goes live.
• The company that takes over the waitlist, if one is formed (see section 5).
• Courts, government agencies or others, when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order.

5. If a company takes over

If a company is formed to run Tellfeather, this waitlist, including your email address and your choices, will be transferred to it. The company will use your information only as described here, and we'll email you when that happens. We expect that company to be called Resurrection Technology. No company exists yet. If you've unsubscribed, we'll pass on your email address only so that it stays unsubscribed.

6. Cookies, tracking and "Do Not Track"

This page has no analytics, ad pixels or tracking cookies. It stores only your price-test group in your browser so the price you see stays the same. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we don't track you across websites or over time, this page works the same way whether or not your browser sends that signal.

Other companies. We don't allow other companies to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time or across different websites when you use this page. The page loads no third-party scripts, fonts, images or social-media buttons.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information until Tellfeather is available to the public, plus 12 months, or delete it sooner if you ask. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we delete everything except your email address, which we keep on a 'do not email' list only so we never email you again, and for nothing else. If you want it removed from that list too, tell us. We'll remove it, but then we can't stop future emails if your address is added again.

8. Your choices: review, change, delete, unsubscribe

• Unsubscribe: use the unsubscribe link in any waitlist email, or email us. We'll stop within 10 business days, and usually sooner.
• Review or change: email [PRIVACY EMAIL] to ask what we hold about you or to correct it. You can also update your answers by asking us to replace them.
• Delete: email [PRIVACY EMAIL] or write to [MAILING ADDRESS: street address | PO Box ####, City ST ZIP | street address PMB ####, City ST ZIP]. We'll delete your information from the waitlist and from our service providers' systems within 30 days, except the 'do not email' record described in section 7.

We'll reply within 30 days, at no charge. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address that's on the list. These choices are open to everyone on the waitlist, wherever you live.

9. Under 18s

The waitlist is only for people 18 and over, and you must confirm your age to join. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

10. Keeping it safe

We collect as little as we can and limit who can access it. No method of storage or sending over the internet is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, such as collecting new kinds of information, using it for a new purpose or sharing it with a new kind of recipient, we'll email everyone on the waitlist at least 30 days before the change takes effect and update the effective date at the top. We won't use information we already have in a materially different way without your consent. Smaller changes, such as fixing typos or naming a chosen provider in the same role, will be posted here with a new effective date.
